Fee Protection Service in Respect of HM Revenue and Customs Investigations
Clark Brownscombe offers a scheme, arranged through Abbey Tax Protection Limited, which offers protection for our clients against the potential cost of our fees in the event of you being selected by HMRC for investigation.
The service will ensure that fees are covered up to a total cost of £125,000 in respect of self assessment full enquiries (that is where HMRC issues a notice asking to examine your books and records) or where HMRC raise an assessment following a routine VAT or PAYE compliance visit.
In respect of the more routine enquiries made by HMRC into individual aspects of your return or accounts (known as 'aspect enquiries') the service offers cover in respect of these where the enquiries cannot be dealt with simply and covers costs to a maximum figure of £5,000.
